childhood’s tenderness
remembering you and me
so sweet to ponder

barefoot babbling brook
ankle deep in water where
tickly minnows played

petals fell softly-
oblivious to all else
you wielded your net

days were simpler then
living for a moment
beauty everywhere

I close my eyes and
petals kiss my face
taking me there
