The one I love…a smiling face,
The outline makes him seem so near
A paper vision in his place,
Will have to do til he is here.

Beside my bed on my nightstand,
He sits all day and all night long.
I wish that I could touch his hand,
I need his warmth to keep me strong.
It’s been years since I touched his face,
Too long, and now my arms grow cold.
A paper vision is in his place,
And me with just this frame to hold.

But in my heart I know that he,
Would truly be here if he could,
And pull me into his arms so sweet,
And show me that our love is good.

When time passes and this picture is tattered,
By then I know he will have come for me.
And none of this loneliness ever mattered,
When he whisks me away for eternity.
