Look at me in my fine dress
Waiting for a love’s first touch
Then this storm and here I stand
To my disappointed arms I clutch
Sinking heart out the window peers
As lightening flashes in the sky
Hopelessly longing to see your face
But the bridge is out- a flood is nigh
Anticipation has rules my life
These sleepless nights and giddy days
For weeks since we formed a final plan
I functioned in a bleary haze
Ironic how the lights are out
No electricity in any house around
Yet bolts of it flash across the sky
And dance along the rainy ground
Where are you my love, what will you do-
I close my eyes and say a prayer. . .
I hear a sound and turn around
Then alas! I see you standing there!
