Tethered

blue white and yellow abstract painting

Where does he end and she begin-
Fluid, floating, wild and free
Together now their lives they blend
Free, yet tethered, he and she.

They found the courage to begin
Their journey of unchartered course
Trusting in the bond they share
Respect and love their binding force

Like eagle mates they make their nest
Spreading their own separate wings
Though each supports the other’s flight
They are tugged back home by their heartstrings

Love is clinging, yet free and unfettered.
Both clinging and wings do they embrace.
Each twilight brings the end if flight
And sees them back to their home base

Where does he end and she begin-
Fluid, floating, wild and free
Together now their lives they blend
Free, yet tethered, he and she.
