Spring

pink flower field

The incredible warmth of the noonday sun
Glistening on the snow;
A welcome relief from the bitter cold,
As it warms us here below.

Wintry days can be so long
And seem to go on forever,
Then glorious spring is sent from above,
To bring its special treasures.

Just as shovels and snowplows
Are becoming a tedious bore,
Heaven sends us a sunny glow,
With a promise to bring us more.

Curtains blowing through open windows,
Will replace the roaring fire.
As the sunshine warms the biting freeze,
Mittens will soon retire.

Ice tinkling in tall glasses,
With chilly lemonade,
Replacing cider and warm cocoa,
As we watch the winter fade.

The tender new clover pokes its head,
Through the melting snow.
And down the mountain flows the stream
To a river bed below.

The fresh newborn baby animals,
Have come to greet the spring.
Before winter is completely gone,
The robin will take wing.

It’s a chance to make things new again,
And give us a brand new start,
To search for new opportunities,
To cleanse a burdened heart.

The seasons pass so quickly by,
And our time on earth is done.
Don’t miss a chance to stretch and grow,
To always seek the sun.

For it’s seeing good in all things,
That will help you on your way;
Even winter has its purpose true,
Though it’s hard to see today.

Though the gray skies can be so gloomy,
And relief you cannot find,
Take heart and know that all is well,
And spring’s not far behind.
