They watch the sailboat drift away
As they stand on one beautiful shore
Smaller and smaller and hard to see
Til the horizon takes it over

With reverent breath they breathe a sigh
Of “there he goes” my chums
When on another beautiful shore
They whisper, “here he comes!”

Just when you think I’ve gone
Please hear my solemn vow
I am here at Jesus’ feet
No pain and suffering now

So blessed to have you in my life
I cherished my time with you
Remember the Lord has promised
We’ll be together in heaven too

As I unite with loved ones past
A joyful chorus fills the air
Hearts and hands welcome me
As eternity with Christ we share

Just as I have gone to heaven
You too will be made whole
I’ll then embrace you all with love
And joy will fill my soul
